It was a tradition that when we lived in Bend and the kids came home for the holidays that we would share a meal at the Deschutes Brewery. We had not been to the Deschutes Brewery in several years and they have also remodeled the place in the last couple of years, so we decided that we were due for a visit. We jumped on our bikes and headed to the Brewery for a late lunch/early dinner. We enjoyed our meal and the remodel of the restaurant was well done. It should help alleviate the long wait lines they have during the holidays.
After we got back from the Brewery, we took Gracie on a long walk in a field behind the rv park. She was so excited because she also got to play catch with her ball. It's amazing to me that dogs can remember places also. She definitely knew where she was.
The next day we spent the day running errands around Bend. We pulled into the ODOT parking lot to turn around and ran into some old co-workers, so we jumped out and had a quick visit with several of them. It's always nice to catch up on people's lives. We also did another one of our Bend traditions, which is to hike up Pilot Butte. It was a lovely afternoon for a walk and Gracie loved it too.
As always, we enjoyed our quick visit to Bend, we miss Bend. Tomorrow we head down the road on our journey south.
