We had a nice short travel day, just the kind we like, it was only about 2 hours. The scenery was again very beautiful and there was only light traffic. At Salmon Lake we were about 5,000 elevation so it was amazing how these mountains just seemed to rise up as we drove along.

After we got set up and had a quick bite for lunch, we did our usual explore the town. There wasn't too much to see, since it is a pretty small town. We did stop and check out a local park with a swimming beach. It was pretty overcast, though it was still warm out. So warm that as we were eating our Blizzards, (they have a DQ in town and it had been awhile) there was a bit of a breeze and my melting ice cream was blowing down my arm. So I had to check out the water and rinse off a bit. The water didn't seem quite as warm as Salmon Lake, but it was still pretty nice.

After dinner we took a walk and checked out the local marina and another county park with a swimming beach.

We finally had a place where we could do our walk/jog routine - at Salmon Lake the highway didn't really have any shoulders and the campground loop was pretty small. We did our walk/jog routine along the lakeshore and got to see all the gorgeous homes while we were at it. There sure were some nice ones.
We got ready to move to our next site 13. The checkout time was 11:00 but the folks that were vacating site 13 must not have had a watch. They didn't leave until about 11:30 and we had someone waiting to get into our old site - oh well, what can you do but wait patiently.
Our new site is very nice - too bad we couldn't have it for more than one night - it is so much more private than the first one. The backside of the 5er looks out onto a grassy area with a small little pond and then a neighborhood.

We got an update from on our grand daughter - looks like she won't be going home from the hospital tomorrow and will have to stay a couple more days. Her doctor said her appendix rupture was one of the worst he's seen. Also her white blood count is still going up so we are waiting to hear what they will do next. Please pray for a speedy recovery for our precious little grand daughter, Jessie.
We took another walk through town and we checked out the "wet bike" rentals, but they are a bit too spendy and the weather wasn't all that nice to be out on the water, there was quite a bit of cloud cover again today. We talked about washing the 5er and truck, but there is a chance of showers in the morning so we decided to wait a bit longer, no sense washing it just to have it get covered in road grime again.
We will be hitting the road tomorrow, either toward Libby, MT or Maple Valley, WA depending on whether or not we are needed to help with Elsie, our other grand daughter.
