Well by the time we got packed up and hit the road it was close to 9:30 and we had a 2 1/2 hour drive ahead of us and it was still windy. We were able to stay away from the center of Las Vegas which was nice.

At one point as we were driving up the side of a mountain Rich checked the mileage and we were only getting around 5 mpg.....yikes, hope this wind doesn't keep up for very long. We also had to travel through several very narrow construction zones which is never a lot of fun. It stayed breezy pretty much the whole trip but I'm happy to report that our mileage went up to approximately 10 mpg which with the wind and several climbs wasn't too bad since we normally only average around 12.5 mpg when pulling the 5er.
We pulled into Willow Wind RV Park shortly after noon Pacific time but we are now back in Mountain time so we lost an hour. We got setup and had a late lunch and took our "traditional" walk through the rv park. It is sunny and breezy but definitely cool, only in the mid 60's here today. There are also tons of trees in this rv park which when the weather is hotter is a nice feature I'm sure. We are definitely leaving behind the warmer temps we had been experiencing this winter.
We are only a couple blocks from a grocery store, so we walked over to the store and picked up a few items before dinner. The afternoon went by pretty fast especially since we lost an hour.
We are looking forward to our adventures in Zion National park.....hopefully we'll have some nice pictures to post in the next several days.
