Thursday, April 25, 2013 (Charleston, OR)

Thursday we both slept in, we must have been tired as Rich is usually up a couple hours before I am. We decided that after our showers we would go into Coos Bay and have breakfast and go check out a couple of state parks south of us. The RV park we are in is over our allotted daily budget, so we thought we’d see if we could fit into any state parks which would fit into our budget better.

We ended up at the Mill Casino in Coos Bay for breakfast, which was just OK. After fueling up with diesel at 3.67/gallon – our best price yet, we headed south. Our first stop was Cape Blanco State Park which was a much more open type park, and they did have some pull through sites, but again, it looked a little tight, maybe in a couple months when we have a bit more experience under our belts. Next stop was Humbug Mountain Park, which was suppose to have some nice pull through sites. The sites were nice and long and looked like we could manage OK, but it was too close to Hwy 101 and the road noise was annoying. Also the beach area was pretty small and we just weren’t feeling it. So after a short discussion, we decided that we’d just go ahead and spend the weekend at the RV park we are currently in even though it is over budget and give ourselves some time to relax and get our game plan figured out.

We got back to the park and sure enough it was filling up fast with a group – Upper Rogue River Ramblers (not sure what type of group it is). But it still is a very nice park and it is right by the beach, it is just a very short walk from our rig to the beach. We took a nice long walk on the beach this afternoon with Gracie.

She got to play fetch with her ball, which is her most absolute favorite thing to do. So we were all happy. It was a nice warm sunny afternoon, perfect for walking on the beach with your love. We’ll see what tomorrow brings.
