Saturday, June 8, 2013 (St Regis, MT)

After a much quieter sleep than the night before in Thompson Falls we woke ready for adventure.  When we drove into town yesterday we passed this house for sale that overlooked the Clark Fork River.  Now Rich and I both like to look at houses.  We looked at our fair share while we still lived in Bend.  On a whim, we called the realtor and asked if we could take a look and had set up some time this morning.  So after our breakfast, off we went.

While we were driving there, we got a call from the realtor, I heard something about a kid from Kalispell and house and then we lost connection.  That was weird, is he going to be late or is he canceling.  Rich called him back got his voice message, so we left a message and by that time we were pulling into the driveway.  There was a car sitting there and a young gal hopped out and came over and asked if we were the real estate people.  We said we were meeting the realtor here to view the house, that's when we found out what his call was all about.  Apparently when he drove up to the house, this young couple had run out of gas and had pulled into the driveway.  Being the nice realtor he was, he offered to run the guy down to the gas station and was just trying to give us a call to tell us he would be a few minutes late.  Everyone is so friendly here, when you are driving down the street, people are waving at you. Here are a couple of pics from the house we looked at.  But see where the grass ends on the first pic, that is a steep hill down and at the bottom of that hill is guess what.....yep a train track.  There sure are a lot of trains in this part of the country.

The realtor also took us to see a 20 acre parcel that had a house but it had burned, but all the utilities were there along with a shop but it was up some pretty nasty gravel roads and would take a lot of imagination to make that property something.  But it was fun looking.  After we left the realtor we were near the town of Superior and with driving on all that gravel, the truck needed a good washing so we were on the hunt for a car wash.  We found one that would work and gave the truck a quick bath.  We drove around Superior and saw this cafe that was in an old elementary school building so decided to stop for lunch.  The food was pretty good, my burger came with home made BBQ sauce, which was good, but a tad sweet for my taste.  After lunch we headed back to the fiver.

I spent the afternoon sunbathing and reading by the pool.  I haven't done something like that in ages.  I was the only one at the pool for the longest time.  Rich came and joined me for a swim, brrr it was cold at first, but then the water felt pretty good.  We were the only ones swimming, it was like having our own private pool.

After the swim, we had our dinner and I started working on getting our blog updated.  We ran into a small glitch when our Trend Micro expired.  I pulled Rich away from his book and he had to put on his computer hat and get us back up to speed on our security software.  Then it was off to bed.
