Tuesday, June 4, 2013 (Hope, ID)

We woke to sunshine and quiet. When we were in Spokane there was a LOT of road noise. Here it was just the chirping birds. Love it! We got up and did our walk/jog routine. As well as exercising, we got to see some more of the pretty lake houses. There are some amazing places around here.

After breakfast we got out our bikes and headed out exploring. There was another RV park and a state campground that we wanted to check out that were just down the road a bit. I wasn’t impressed with the other RV park, it was more expensive and didn’t have sewer connections.

The campground was nice, it had a great beach area and talking with the camp host, he told us about a couple of sites that we would fit in. He also shared some work camping stories with us. We are considering trying some work camping when we find an area we’d like to explore for a while. We checked out the sites he suggested and yes they would fit our rig but……there are no hookups, which is not that big of deal, but the sites were quite a way from the water and were very shaded. We tend to enjoy the sunny sites, at least until it gets really hot. So we decided to stay put. We’re just not sure for how long yet….oh well we can decide that tomorrow.

After we got back from our bike ride, we had our lunch and then decided that we needed to get the fiver and truck washed. The other day driving to Spokane we got hit with a rain shower and it got all that road grime on our nice pretty fiver and truck. I see why rver’s try and not travel when rain is forecast. At least it was a nice sunny afternoon. That chore took the better part of the afternoon, there’s a lot of surface to wash but boy the fiver and truck sure look nice. Now if they will only stay that way.

We took a stroll down to the lake and walked along the dock for a bit admiring the beautiful scenery.  During dinner, we spent some time discussing our future route after we leave this area, (Montana, Wyoming and British Columbia) our only commitment is to be back in Washington for Jessica and Garry’s wedding on August 10th. After dinner, I spent some time writing on our blog, looking out at the beautiful scenery and listening to the birds and watching the deer stroll by. This is truly a blessing to be able to just sit and enjoy God’s creation at a slow pace. There is just such a difference, knowing you can stay as long as you want in an area and you are not just on a one or two week vacation and have to cram a lot in that two weeks. We’re loving it.
